[...] Kim got me a Sony pocket e-reader. I was able to download David Weisberg’s history of CAD, and load it up on the reader, shown to the left. Mr. Weisberg made this book available for free, asking only a charitable donation to the Cancer League of Colorado. It is in PDF format, and works well on the pocket reader. I also downloaded a King James Bible in PDF, mainly just to see if I could. I could put my own books on PDF and put them on here (uses a USB wire). Other people have also thought Sony made a better product than Amazon. [...]

Dear Coastwalker,

I bought my 505 a couple of weeks ago. I have not been able to add a SD card for more memory. Have a 2 GB SD card and the 505 does not reconize it. Also added some books to 505 and cannot sync.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks

Have been using a 505 for a month or so now. Very pleased with it. Battery life is great. Have a couple of gigs of technical PDFs on it. I have got used to the slow page turning rate and the need to view rotated and the inability to see quick time animations etc. There is room for improvement but I dont see anything in a similar price range that can beat it yet. Having WiFi embedded is a gimmick as it destroys the battery life. A touch screen is also a stupid gimmick because it spoils the appearance of the page. I think we are still a couple of generations away from nirvana :-)

Ooooh I'm sorry, you're mentally ill, that would explain the broken english and inability to explain yourself.

"Just look across the river, Lennie. Keep lookin', keep lookin'."

?????? What's the point of your post?

I'll assume you're not from the U.S. since you don't seem to know about Target... Target is one of the largest retailers, so no it's not stolen goods. Many stores will sell products at a loss, rather than ship them to another store where they have a chance at selling full price simply because they get a tax break. It's terrible yes, but legal in this country.

As far as the topic going on after 2 years, well you can thank Sony and the market in general for that. They've hardly improved over the 505 in all that time. So people are still interested in buying it. People are still searching for information on it, and they find this thread and comment. Why are you complaining?

The funny thing is a the end of your post you say "blah blah blah; READ THE THREADS, blah blah blah" So you're complaining the topic is still going on, yet telling people to read the topic. Does it make sense?

At $65 I highly think it smells to stolen goods!
At $165 you'd have a serious bargain, $65 is just plain wrong, unless it's sold as parts because it's broken somehow.

Why is this topic still going on after almost 2 years?

(the dead screen is a battery issue; read the threads, you need to charge via AC, and in worst case charge via AC and USB together at the same time!

Well I'll try it in my area! There are a couple "ghetto" targets around here that might be clearing anything doesn't fit into a dvd player.
